Les élèves de l’école AB Defendini élémentaire à Bastia lancent le 1er numéro de leur journal « U ghjurnalettu di l’ortu » ! Un projet éco-citoyen et bilingue pour partager leurs aventures au potager : jardinage, lexique corse, recettes et jeux.
Ce projet interdisciplinaire bilingue (français/corse) implique les élèves autour d’activités concrètes de plein air. On y découvre la vie du potager au fil des saisons : sessions de jardinage (désherber, semer, planter), création d’un herbier d’hiver, ateliers de dégustation (découverte du topinambour), ainsi que l’élaboration d’un lexique botanique et de jeux bilingues. Les élèves ont participé à la présentation du jardin, à la cueillette et à la mise en sachet des herbes aromatiques, contribuant ainsi à toutes les étapes du processus, de la culture à la valorisation.
Au-delà de l’apprentissage technique et de la sensibilisation au respect de la nature, cette action renforce le travail en équipe, la curiosité et l’expression écrite des élèves. C’est un bel exemple de valorisation des compétences scolaires hors de la classe, mené en partenariat avec la mairie de Bastia et l’association Paese d’Avvene.
La création d’un journal scolaire ayant pour thème le jardin, à parution semestrielle, vient compléter le travail engagé. Toutes les classes (du CP au CM2) ont collaboré à la publication du premier numéro de « U ghjurnalettu di l’ortu » (Février 2026).
Ce projet interdisciplinaire très riche a permis de travailler dans les domaines suivants :
- Arts plastiques (ex : création de Zucche),
- Langue corse et français (production d’écrits, vocabulaire spécifique, oral, herbier),
- Sciences (observation du vivant, cycle des plantes, biodiversité),
- Numérique, traitement de texte et mise en page
- Autres activités transversales en lien avec l’environnement.
Pour conclure ce très beau projet, laissons la parole aux élèves : « Ci simu campati ! Ci hè piaciuta assai st’attività perchè avemu amparatu fora è avemu travagliatu tutti inseme. » (Nous nous sommes régalés ! On a beaucoup aimé cette activité parce qu’on a appris dehors et on a travaillé tous ensemble.)
